New Year get-together for Hanoi’s artists and intellectuals
(VOV) - The Hanoi municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front held a New Year get-together on January 31 for religious clergies, outstanding artists, intellectuals, secretaries and university rectors.
At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Nguyen Cong Soai briefed the participants on the socio-economic achievements the capital city made in 2012 and praised the contributions made by religious clergies, artists and intellectuals to the capital city’s development.
Soai voiced his confidence that they will come together to fulfill the socio-economic tasks set for the year with enthusiasm, energy and resourcefulness,
Most Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Council and Head of the Hanoi Buddhist Church, said Buddhist followers are happy with Hanoi’s tremendous achievements last year and are confident in the municipal leadership.
Bang Viet, Chairman of the Hanoi Literature & Arts Association, suggested Hanoi should organize more forums for artists to express their views on major issues related to Party building, international integration and social security.
