A ceremony to announce the decision of establishing a centre to preserve the Co Loa historic site and Hanoi ancient Citadel was held in Hanoi on October 23.

The centre aims to preserve, restore and promote the values of the typical historic cultural relics of Hanoi and the country.

From now till late this year, the centre will focus on finalising documents to recognise the archaeological site at

18 Hoang Dieu Street
as national vestige. It will continue to formulate documents relating to royal citadel relics as the world’s cultural heritage. It also makes proposals on setting up a Vietnam-Japan Expert Committee, maps out an action plan for 2007 and till 2010.
