Vietnam’s garment and apparel exports reached an estimated US$680 million in June, according to the Vietnam Garment and Apparel Association.
This meets only 47 percent of the sector’s yearly plan, despite an annual rise of 25.9 percent.
There has been a high proportion of outsourcing in the garment sector, while a large number of apparel contracts with US firms were cancelled under the US Government’s monitoring mechanism for Vietnamese garments.
