Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem received a delegation from the US Institute for Global Engagement (IGE), headed by its President, Doctor Chris Seiple, in Hanoi on October 13.

The Deputy PM said he hopes that after the fact-finding tour, the IGE delegation will have a better understanding of Vietnam’s policies regarding religion and the objective reality of religious activities in the host country.

Doctor Seiple expressed his administration for recent developments in Vietnam.

During their visit to Vietnam, the IGE signed a detailed agreement regarding Article Six of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam-US association and the IGE on providing the necessary training in popularising legal documents relating to religion and belief.

The delegation will also visit several localities in the central and Central Highland regions in order to study the possibilities of implementing a number of humanitarian projects.
