Free check-ups for the poor in Cambodia

(VOV) - A delegation of volunteer Vietnamese doctors has provided free medical check-ups for nearly 7,000 poor Cambodian and Vietnamese in Banteay Meachey province.

The delegation, led by former Health Minister Tran Thi Chung Chien, included 100 doctors and nurses from Ho Chi Minh City and Chak Angre Phnom Penh Hospital.

While staying there from February 27-28, they examined and distributed medicine to thousands of local people. They also conducted free surgery for a number of patients suffering from cardiovascular, blood pressure and bone-related diseases.

On the occasion, all poor patients were offered packages of relief aid, including rice, shrimp noodles and other necessaries.
