A delegation of the Information and Education Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee led by its Deputy Head Nguyen The Ky paid a working visit to Cuba from September 12-15.
At a September 15 meeting with Head of the Ideological Department of the Cuban Communist Party’s Central Committee (CCP) Rolando Alfonso, Ky briefed his host of the CPV’s activities in the information and education work over 80 years on its chosen road of building socialism on the basis of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh’s Thought.

Having recognized the significance of ideological work, the CPV always makes information and education work part of socio-economic development and the strengthening of national security and defence, he said.

For his part, Rolando Alfonso informed his guest of Cuba’s socio-economic development. He put stress on the significance of information and ideological education work for people in general and for young generation in particular.

He mentioned several measures that the Party and government of Cuba have put forth to boost production and raise people’s living standards, including the cut back of over half a million of workers in state-owned agencies and enterprises.

During its stay in Cuba, the Vietnamese delegation also held talks with Roberto Montesino, Head of CCP’s Department of Education and Sports, Luis Morlote Rivas, president of Hermanos Saiz Association and made fact-finding tours of several schools and cultural-social sites in Havana.
