Vietnamese minnows played against a much stronger Australian team on March 30 with confidence following their previous impressive wins over Brunei and Myanmar.

Despite the absence of their experienced player Le Tuan Tu, the Vietnamese team performed quite well in the first half, keeping the score at 0-0.

In the second half, Australian footballers rushed forward and opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Vietnamese players still stick to their tactics without wavering and quickly evened the score in the 30th minute.

However, Australia took the score to 2-1 barely two minutes later. Due to the impatience of inexperienced Vietnamese players, Australian rivals successfully scored another two goals in the 36th and 39th minutes.

Vietnam will play against Myanmar on March 31 for third place in the tournament.
