The Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defence, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Khac Nghien, died of serious illness at military hospital No. 108 on November 13.
Nghien, born in 1951 in a small village in the northern province of Phu Tho, was a revolutionary veteran with over 40 years’ revolutionary experiences.
He was awarded a number of high honours, including the 30 year Party Member Badge.
The military general funeral will be held at the State level on November 17.
