Sending election documents and curriculum vitae of candidates from district centres to constituencies takes a lot of time due to poor access. Remote and mountainous areas have devised creative measures to solve the problem.

At the time of the upcoming NA election, the border district of Sa Thay in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum has more than 20,600 voters. Many constituencies far from the centre and it takes at least two days for election documents and curriculum vitae of candidates to reach them. Therefore, Mo Rai commune, border guards and national defence economic mission based in Chu Se district will cast their ballots on May 19, one day earlier. Dissemination in remote and mountainous areas is also being strengthened.

A Nhiu, president of the Sa Thay Fatherland Front Committee said the front has coordinated with other organisations to disseminate information about the election through a wide range of activities.

All communes and towns in the remote district of Dam Doi in the southernmost province of Ca Mau has prepared all necessary conditions for the election. 227 voting groups and polling stations hung propaganda posters. All hamlets have organised contests on the election, which have attracted thousands of voters.

More than 10,000 voters at the remote commune of Tan Tien, Dam Doi district have received polling cards. Every day, local radio stations broadcast information about the election.

Tan Tien commune has 12 hamlets, including four accessible by road and eight by waterway. Earlier, the commune set up 15 polling stations so that all local people can cast their ballots. It also sent young volunteers to bring the ballot boxes to houses of old people and people with disabilities to help them vote.

The Cinematography Centre of central Khanh Hoa province has launched film shows to welcome the 12th National Assembly election and mark the 117th birth anniversary of the
late President Ho Chi Minh.

The films, screened from May 13 to May 20, will include documentary films featuring the image of the late President Ho Chi Minh in significant periods of the nation’s history, as well as highlighting the glorious tradition of Vietnam.

On the occasion, various cultural activities and art performances will also take place to create a jubilant atmosphere in preparation for the upcoming 12th NA election on May 20.
