Vietnam 1 won the champion title after defeating Malaysian team 4-0 in the final match. Thailand bagged a bronze medal after trouncing Vietnam 2 (Phu Yen) 3-1.

The tournament had six teams playing in a round robin format: Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam 1 in group A and Malaysia, Indonesia and Phu Yen in group B.

Vu Quang Vinh, vice chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation said that this was the first time the tournament of this kind took place in Vietnam, providing a good chance for young players to learn experiences and strengthen friendly relations among ASEAN countries.
