An “I love Hanoi” event opened at Ly Thai To Park in Hanoi on October 8 to mark the ASEAN + 3 Youth Festival and the capital’s 1,000th birthday.

The event, launched by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Hanoi municipal Youth Union, includes three main activities such as building behavioural culture, preserving and promoting traditional culture and developing a green, clean and beautiful capital.

This will help to educate young people and encourage them to build a healthy lifestyle and live with ideals, desires and aspirations.

At the launch ceremony, a huge painting called “I love Hanoi” in 200m length and 1.2m height was on display. The picture, painted by 1,000 young painters, features five themes: Hanoi – a thousand-year old civilisation, Hanoi- a heroic capital, and Hanoi – the heart of the country, Hanoi- a city of peace and Hanoi on the way to integration and development.

This is a special gift that young Hanoians want to present to the capital on its millennium birthday to show their determination to make the capital more wealthy, civilised and modern.
