In photos: Party leader welcomed in Vientiane

VOV.VN - An official welcome ceremony for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was hosted by General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith with full honours on November 24 at Lao Presidential Palace. 

The Party chief and high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in Vientiane on the morning of November 24 to start an official visit to Laos at the invitation of President Vorachith.

Mr Trong was welcomed by Politburo member and standing member of the LPRP Central Committee’s Secretariat Phankham Viphavanh, and Head of the Lao Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Sunthon Saynhachac, representatives from Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs,

and many Lao and oversea Vietnamese people and students.

This is the first overseas visit of the Party leader after he was re-elected 

General Secretary for the 12th Communist Party tenure.

A large number of Lao people in traditional costumes standing along streets welcome the Party chief.

Two leaders inspected the guard of honour

After the welcome ceremony, Party leader Trong and President Vorachith held talks and witnessed signing of 7 cooperation deals.
