As many as 95,000 foreign visitors came to Hanoi in May, representing an increase of 10 percent over the same month last year, according to the Hanoi Tourism Department.
The number of visitors from China topped the list of foreigners to Hanoi, followed by those from the Republic of Korea, Japan, France, Thailand, Australia, the US, the UK and Germany.
Hanoi's tourism sector has been developing a system of cultural and tourism information kiosks around Hoan Kiem lake and boosting domestic and foreign tourism co-operation.
It has also paid special attention to providing professional training and improving foreign language skills for tourist guides serving the ever-increasing demands of foreign visitors.
