Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Industry Corporation began building the first 56,200-tonne freighter ordered by the Japanese Lavender Maritime S.A on September 20.


The ship is expected to be completed in 22 months under the supervision of the Japanese NK Register.


Nam Trieu has signed export contracts with world renowned shipping companies, including the UK Graig and the Japanese Itochu.


Recently, the corporation signed contracts to build four ships worth 12 million euros for the Rensen Group of the Netherlands and to manufacture special ships to carry modern automobiles of the Hoech Autolier Agency worth nearly US$2 billion.
