At their working session, Huynh Dam, VFF Vice President and General Secretary and Min Khin, Vice President of the SFDCM and General Secretary of the SFDCM's National Council, agreed that the two fronts will work to promote the two countries' time-honoured relations.

The two fronts will also work to help the people gain better understanding of and implement effectively, the agreements signed by their governments while accelerating the exchange of information and personnel training, these officials said.

At the working session, the Cambodian official expressed his hope that the ties between the two fronts will be maintained and developed, adding that the SFDCM plans to resume the operation of the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Organisation soon.

During the working visit to Cambodia from April 27 to May 1, Huynh Dam addressed the fifth Congress of the SFDCM, whose former name was the Kampuchean United Front for National Construction and Defence (UFCDK).

He was received by Chea Sim, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Speaker of the Cambodian Senate; Heng Samrin, Parliament Speaker, CPP Honorable President and Chairman of the SFDCM's National Council; and Hun Sen, Prime Minister and CPP Vice President.
