The Japan-based JFE Engineering Corporation and Nihon Suido Consultants Company have agreed to build wastewater and garbage treatment plants in the central city of Da Nang.

Leaders of the two groups met with municipal authorities on November 14 to compare notes on the pre-feasibility study on the project at a cost of over 13.9 billion JPY (nearly US$190 million).

In 2007, Nihon Suido Consultants conducted a pre-feasibility study on a project to improve environmental sanitation in Da Nang city.

Based on the study, Nihon Suido Consultants and its partners, including Sumitomo, JFE Engineering and Tsukishima Kakai recently set up a working group to develop the project under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
