Despite fluctuations in world gold prices at the end of 2009, domestic gold still hovers around VND26.75 million/tael.
On the morning of December 31, it was listed at VND26.60-26.75 million/tael, up VND300,000/tael compared to transactions in previous day, but 1.5 times higher than last year’s figure.
By 11.30am on December 31, gold prices on the New York market stood at US$1,098 per ounce, up US$6 against the previous day’s transactions.
