The low tropical pressure has become stronger to rise to storm levels in south western waters near Dongsha island in China. This is the fourth storm in the East Sea this year and has been called KAMMURI.

According to the National Hydrometeorology Forecasting Centre, at 7am on August 5, the centre of the storm was at 20.1 degrees north latitude and 116.2 degrees east longitude in the northern part of the East Sea.

The strongest winds near the centre of the storm have been measured at gale force 8 (from 62 to 74 km per hour).

Forecasts say that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the storm will move in a north west direction, at speeds of around 15km per hour. When it reaches Guangdong province in China, it will drop to a normal level of tropical low pressure.

Due to the storm, the northern part of the East Sea will be extremely rough.
