A ceremony was held in Hanoi on August 23 to present the “For the cause of development of Vietnam’s ethnic groups” insignia to VOV reporters, editors and other staff members in recognition of their contributions to developing solidarity among ethnic groups.

The event was co-organized by Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs.

At the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Hoang Xuan Luong affirmed that the dissemination of information about ethnic groups on VOV’s broadcasting channels has made an important contribution to building and reinforcing the great national unity bloc.

Radio broadcasting industry is an effective means of communication to disseminate the Party and State’s policies and laws among ethic minority groups, especially in remote areas.

Mr Luong stated that the VOV staff should be in the vanguard of bringing socio-economic information to ethnic minority groups, to help ensure national defense and security in border areas.
