A cold snap is moving toward Vietnam and is expected to approach the northern border on the night of October 24.

The snap is forecast to cause high winds and rains in northern and north-central provinces when it moves further inland, according to the National Hydro-meteorological Forecasting Centre.

Temperatures will fall by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius.  People living in mountain areas will feel slight chill early in the morning and late at night.

The cold weather will last between 3 and 4 days, says the centre.
