Tens of thousands of Catholic dignitaries and followers from 26 dioceses nationwide flocked to central Quang Tri province for the 2008 La Vang Festival.

The 28^th festival, including the La Vang palanquin procession is hosted by Archbishop of the Hue Archdiocese Nguyen Nhu The at La Vang Church in Hai Phu commune, Hai Lang district from August 13-15.

The event is held annually to commemorate a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary by Vietnamese Catholics.
