The National Sports Committee has announced that the Vietnamese women football team will leave for Japan to play against the host team as part of the Beijing 2008 Olympic second qualifying round.

The 18-footballer team is expected to have its first warm-up in Tokyo on April 5.

Experts said that the match with Japan will be a tough one for Vietnamese players as Japanese rivals are placed 9th in the FIFA rankings. However, this will be a good opportunity for them to assess their weaknesses and hone their skills for the coming 24th SEA Games.
