Vietnam defeated New Zealand 3-0 at the ASEAN women’s volleyball champs which opened in Bac Ninh on September 12.
The victory raises hopes that Vietnam will be able to enter the second round. They must ensure a satisfactory result in a match with Kazakhstan on September 14 who are now placed sixth in Asia. This will be a big challenge for Vietnam.
The same day, the strongest candidates in the championships - Japan, Taiwan (China), China, and Thailand also won.
