Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Bui Ba Bong and the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA)’s Disaster Management Operation Director Ian Dacre signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Hanoi on April 6.
Bong said this is a new cooperative programme between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and WSPA which is being implemented from 2012 to 2016.
Under the MoU, cooperative players will focus on organizing training courses for veterinarians, providing emergency aid for domestic animals when disasters occur and developing a disaster map for the animals.
Ian Dacre said the two sides will discuss specific solutions to effectively manage some of the consequences of disasters in Vietnam.
