The State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) and the Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) have discussed ways to increase the efficiency of cooperation between the two organisations.

At a workshop in Hanoi on June 18, a VJA representative said that as auditing is a new sector in Vietnam, the media is aware of the need to disseminate information about the sector and the State Audit Law, particularly the result of auditing at State agencies and companies. He said this activity has helped promote the transparency and democracy in economic and financial management, contributing to the fight against corruption.

Representatives of media agencies proposed that the State Audit have a spokesperson to provide accurate and reliable information for the media and establish a club of financial journalists to share information about this sensitive area.

State General Auditor Vuong Dinh Hue welcomed journalists’ opinions and affirmed that the auditing sector is willing to cooperate closely with the media in providing information about its activity.

He said his agency will collaborate with relevant agencies to organise short-term training courses for journalists soon.
