The industrial production value in February is estimated to reach VND58,200 billion, up by 21.6 percent against January and by 14.9 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment on February 25.

Also, in February, the industrial production value is showing slight increases in the state sector (10.7 percent), the non-state sector (17.3 percent) and the foreign-invested sector (15.4 percent).

In the first two months of this year, the value of industrial production has hit VND106,100 billion, up by 2.5 percent against the same period last year, despite the fact that the state sector shrank by 4.4 percent while the non-state and foreign-invested sectors continued to grow by 6.6 percent and 3.3 percent, respectively.

The industrial production value in the past two months has shown a slow increase due to difficulties in the domestic and export markets as the agricultural sector is affected by outbreaks of bird flu, foot-and-mouth and blue-ear pig diseases in some localities.
