New Government committed to overcoming difficulties

PM Dung made the statement during his inaugural speech at the on-going NA first session on August 3. He stressed that the Government have been aware of their central tasks during the new term in order to maximise advantages and opportunities, but also to overcome difficulties and shortcomings in maintaining positive achievements.

The Government will join efforts with the entire Party, people and army to take full advantage of the nation’s strengths to boost the renewal process and successfully implement the 2011-2015 socio-economic development plan. Specifically, the three strategic breakthroughs, the transformation of growth models, and the restructuring of the national economy as addressed by the 11^th National Party Congress, he said.

The PM said that in the near future, the Government will focus on curbing inflation, stabilising the macroeconomy, removing difficulties for production and business, ensuring social welfare and helping poor people improve their living conditions.

Mr. Dung also stressed that the Government will be persistent in its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, cooperation for development, diversification and multilateralization of external relations and active international integration to increase the country’s status for the nation’s benefit.

Vietnam will cooperate equally with all countries in the world and will become a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member in the international community for the prosperity of each country and for peace, national independence and democracy in the world, he noted.

He pledged to take drastic and synchronous measures in the struggle against corruption, waste, and bureaucracy in order to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State, and people.
