VietJetAir launches new air route

The low-cost carrier VietJetAir on November 22 officially launched a domestic route linking Ho Chi Minh City with the central city of Hue to meet the increasing demand from domestic and foreign passengers.

The route, the carrier’s 7th in their domestic air network, will carry up to 180 passengers on the daily Airbus A320 flight.

The airline’s Deputy General Director, Pritam Singh, said that Hue is a must-see destination for visitors.

The launch of the new route is expected to boost the ever developing tourism and trade activities in the provinces of Quang Tri and Quang Binh, which are in easy reach from Hue.

The carrier plans to open further routes to the Central Highland resort city of Da Lat and the southern island of Phu Quoc in a near future.

VietJetAir is currently the second biggest airline in Vietnam in terms of flight numbers. It was recently named the friendliest airline, and best airline for promotional deals in Vietnam by the Trust & Consume 2012 market research report in HCM City.
