Vietnam backs Palestine’s efforts to become a member of the United Nations (UN) as soon as possible, said spokesman for the Vietnam Foreign Ministry (FM) Luong Thanh Nghi.
Mr Nghi made the statement on September 20 in response to reporters’ questions about Vietnam’s reaction to Palestine’s application for full UN membership.
Vietnam has recognized the Palestinian state since 1988 and has always supported regional and international efforts to establish an independent, sovereign Palestine, which can peacefully co-exist beside Israel based on the common borderline drawn before June 1967, said the FM spokesman.
