Turkey’s biggest Airlines opened a representative office in Hanoi on July 7. Turkish Airlines also chose the Huong Giang Aviation Service Co. Ltd., to be its agent in the country.

Bahri Yilmaz, director of the airline’s South East Asian unit, said Turkish Airlines will work with Vietnam Airlines and Thai Airways to provide flight services from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok in the initial stage.

Later on, passengers will be able to fly on to Istanbul, Turkey’s capital and from there to over one hundred other cities over the world.

Presently, Turkish Airlines only has one flight everyday from Bangkok to Europe.

Also according to Mr. Bahri Yilmaz, Turkish Airlines is negotiating with other companies to provide flight services from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Istanbul and the rest of Europe.

Airfares from Vietnam to Istanbul will start at about US$900-950 and from Vietnam to Europe will cost US$1,200-1,400.
