A new bird flu outbreak has been reported in southern Tra Vinh province, bringing the number of provinces infected by the disease to four in the past month, the Animal Health Department announced on October 31.

 

The H5N1 virus was found in a flock of 500 ducks in a household in Kinh Xuoi hamlet, Thanh My commune, Chau Thanh district where 400 ducks have died since October 29.

 

The three other provinces hit by avian influenza are central Quang Tri province, northern Cao Bang province and northern Nam Dinh province.
