The Vietnamese film “Song Trong So Hai” (Living In Fear) produced by young director Bui Thac Chuyen won a prize for the best film in the category of Asia Young Talent Film at the 9th Shanghai International Film Festival.

The film “Song Trong So Hai” features the daily life of a war veteran during the Vietnam resistance war against US aggression. Earlier, the film won five Golden Kite prizes of the Vietnam Cinema Association in 2005.

 

Vietnam sent three films to compete at the festival, including “Song Trong So Hai” by Bui Thac Chuyen, “Hat mua roi bao lau” (Bride of Silence) by Overseas Vietnamese directors Doan Minh Phuong and Doan Minh Nghia, and “Sai Gon Tinh Ca” (Saigon Love Story) by Overseas Vietnamese director Ringo Le.
