Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on June 27 received Swiss ambassador Jean Hubert Lebet who paid a courtesy visit before ending his term in Vietnam.

PM Dung expressed his satisfaction with the positive development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Vietnam and Switzerland in various fields such as politics, diplomacy, education and training.

Switzerland is Vietnam’s second biggest trade partner of EU nations investing in Vietnam.

Mr Dung spoke highly of the contributions the Swiss diplomat made during his term in Vietnam, which have helped lift bilateral relations to a higher level, adding that the Vietnamese Government will continue to offer the best possible conditions for new ambassador to work effectively in the country.

Mr Lebet thanked the Vietnamese Government and agencies for helping him fulfill his duty over the past years while affirming that he, in any position, will continue to contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries.

The ambassador said he hopes for continual cooperation between Switzerland and Vietnam in all fields, especially education and training.

On the occasion, PM Dung also conveyed his best regards to the Swiss President and other leaders.
