As Vietnam and Mongolia have much in common, the two countries should expand their cooperation to more areas for mutual benefit, said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

President Triet stated this on December 9 at a reception for Mongolian Defence Minister, Luvsanvandan Bold, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

Mr. Triet highly appreciated Mr. Bold’s visit and said that it will contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two countries, particularly regarding military cooperation.

He expressed his support for the cooperation agreement which has been signed by both countries’ ministries of defence, saying the two countries should expand areas of cooperation for the development of Vietnam-Mongolia relationships.

Minister Bold was delighted at being the first Mongolian Defence Minister to visit Vietnam. He congratulated Vietnam on its achievements during its renewal process and expressed his belief that military cooperation between Mongolia and Vietnam will be enhanced.

Mongolia-Vietnam relationships have seen significant development recently, said Bold, adding that Mongolia will cooperate closely with Vietnam at international and international forums.
