The UK Prudential PLC will continue to provide US$1.4 million to the operation of the Vietnam Prudence Fund during the 2007-2010 period.

Prudential PLC Director General Mark Tucker made the announcement following the signing of two memoranda of understanding with the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) and the Apollo education and training organisation in Hanoi on October 10.

Under the MoU signed with the VTF, the Vietnam Prudence Fund will continue collaborating with the National Committee for Sports and Physical Training and the VTF to organise national tournaments for adolescents and youths, as well as training courses at home and abroad for the U14 national team.

Under the MoU signed with Apollo, the fund is committed to organising basic business English courses for cadres in 20 provinces and cities and advanced English courses through a distance English training programme in addition to other business English courses for the 2007-2010 period.

Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for Sports and Physical Training Nguyen Danh Thai took the occasion to present the insignia "For the Cause of Sports and Physical Training" to Director General Mark Tucker of Prudential PLC in recognition of his contributions to Vietnam's tennis development.
