Most of the victims, aged from 19 to 26, said they were lured to Bangkok with promises of good jobs several months ago.

However, their passports were taken from them immediately after they arrived in Thailand.

The women were being held in three houses in the outskirts of Bangkok, with nine of the passport holders from the southern provinces of Bac Lieu, An Giang, Hau Giang and Ca Mau.

In the afternoon the same day, the victims had been sent to Thailand Immigration Bureau to undertake necessary procedures before returning to Vietnam. Four men, maybe Taiwanese, involved were also summoned to clarify the case.

According to sources, the owners would take the sperm of some “famous people” and then implant them into the chosen surrogate mothers. Babies would be sold to foreigners.
