The first three volumes of the Encyclopaedia of Hanoi were made public on October 31. The book's editors hope to receive public recommendations in order to continue completing the remaining 15 volumes of the encyclopaedia.

The newly-published volumes deal with the economy of Thang Long-Hanoi; the development of science and technology and social sciences and humanities in the capital city.

The drafts of the 15 remaining volumes have been completed and are expected to be printed in 2007.

The Hanoi Encyclopaedia is a big project to celebrate the millennium founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi in 2010.

Two hundred scientists and researchers have been working on the book over the past 14 years with the aim of introducing achievements in all fields of the capital city over the past 1,000 years.
