The government always encourages vocational training establishments to link up with overseas training schools and create favourable conditions for prestigious investors to open schools in Vietnam, stated Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

Minister Ngan told an online Government conference in Hanoi on August 6 that from now until 2020, the focus will be on improving vocational training through experience learnt from other countries and increasing the number of recognized foreign diplomas and certificates.

This scheme will be submitted to the Government at next month’s regular cabinet meeting, the minister said, adding that investment policy in vocational training will be geared toward hi-tech high-quality and specialized professions.

She added that non-State schools will be provided with loans, receive development funding and be able to join in competitive bidding on State orders.

The country’s vocational curricula will be also revamped to meet market demands and increase the involvement of businesses.

The above-mentioned solutions are intended to give vocational training to more than 24 million people by 2020 and raise the rate of trained workers to 55 percent.
