The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) will conduct a feasibility study on the construction of two hydro-electric power plants in the Rattana Kiri and Kratie provinces of Cambodia.

An agreement to the effect was signed in Phnom Penh on June 15, by EVN Deputy General Director Lam Du Son and Cambodian State Secretary in charge of the Industry, Mines and Energy Ministry Khlaut Randy.

Under the agreement, EVN will carry out survey activities of the two projects, Low Se San 1 (90MW) and Low Se San 2 (420MW), on the Se San River in Northwestern Cambodia.

The plants are expected to meet the increasing demands for power in remote areas and for power export back to Vietnam.
