Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has said that Vietnam is looking for further co-operation with Israel in biotechnology to apply to local farming technologies.

The Prime Minister made the statement at a reception for the outgoing Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam, Ephraim Ben Matiyau.

He said, he was pleased with the growing ties between Vietnam and Israel, and thanked Israel for training some 200 Vietnamese agricultural students every year.

Ambassador Matiyau noted that Vietnam has attracted an increasing number of Israeli investors, notably those in the shipbuilding industry.At present some 2,000 Vietnamese students and scholars are studying or taking part in scientific and technology events in Israel, he added

 Vietnam-Israel trade turnover currently hover over US$200 million a year.
