The Vietnamese Government and people will do their best to promote the fine relations between Vietnam and France, says Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Prime Minister Dung made the statement while receiving French Justice Minister Pascal Clement in Hanoi on March 16 on Minister Clement’s visit for the 14th session of the Vietnam-France Law House Committee.

At the reception, PM Dung expressed his delight at the fruitful multi-faceted cooperation between Vietnam and France and said that Minister Clement’s visit will further boost the cooperation. He affirmed that Vietnamese Government and people will do their best to promote the fine relations between the two countries.

For his part, Minister Pascal Clement briefed Prime Minister Dung on the results of his Vietnam visit and told him that 112 Vietnamese public notaries have been trained in France.

Earlier, Mr Clement met students of the Hanoi National University where he expressed his deep impression on the strong development of Vietnam-France relations in all fields, particularly in law and justice. The lecturing in French language at the university’s Department of Law is a vivid manifestation of the fine relations.

Mr Clement was surprised to know that like France, Vietnam also takes keen interest in the role of laws in society.

During the working visit to Vietnam, Mr Clement witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Minister of Natural Resource and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen and President of the Supreme Notary Council Bernard Reynis in Hanoi on March 15.

The signing marked a new step towards the legal cooperation between Vietnam and France, aimed at giving Vietnam’s economic development a boost.
