Representatives from 20 leading companies of Finland will accompany their president to Vietnam, according to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

President Tarja Halonen and her husband, Pentti Arajärvi, will pay an official visit to Vietnam from February 21-23 at the invitation of State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

The VCCI said the visit will provide a chance for businesses of the two countries to meet, exchange information, seek partners and do market research.

The VCCI in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland and the Confederation of Finnish Industries will host a business forum in Hanoi on February 22.

The Finnish businesses that will visit Vietnam operate in various areas, including information technology, mobile phone, ship-building, aviation, pharmaceutical production, energy, pulp and paper, mining, financial and banking.
