Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on August 8 sent a letter of sympathy to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and people in disaster-stricken provinces.

PM Dung expressed his belief that people in the disaster areas will soon overcome the damages and return to their normal lives under the leadership of the Chinese Party and Government.

Deputy PM-cum-Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem also gave condolences to his Chinese counterpart Li Zhaoxing.

Many natural disasters have recently hit China's southern provinces of Zhejiang, Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi, causing serious losses of human life and property.
