Over the last two weeks, VOVNews has begun work on a new editorial software programme, which is expected to provide convenience for visitors. At the same time, VOVNews transferred data from the old server to a new one and several technical failures occurred during the process. In fact, VOVNews did not lose its domain or was hacked by outsiders. VOVNews’ server hosting agency - FPT - immediately dealt with the incident and the website operated normally.

However, during the transitional period, technical troubles can happen at any time. Therefore, we would like readers and listeners near and far to continue to log on, and check and report troubles to VOVNews so we can solve them immediately.

At present, it takes time to download every VOVNews webpage, but we hope the situation will be improved as of January 20.

Question: I am a VOV regular listener. I like listening to VOV broadcasts in English and Russian. I wonder whether I could download these broadcasts on my computer for listening in my leisure time. If so, can you tell me how to do it?. Thank you. (Le Tung).

Answer: It is a pity that we cannot meet your needs. Currently, VOVNews webcasts these broadcasts live without storing them due to the low capacity of the audio server. Therefore, you can only listen to these broadcasts at certain times during the day and cannot download them later.   

Question: I downloaded and installed RealPlayer software into my computer, but I could not listen to songs on VOVNews.

Answer: You should check if the software programme works on other websites. Possibly you did not follow the correct instructions during the installation process. You should check, download and install the software programme again from www.real.com. If the programme does not work again, please send the error report to VOVNews and we will help you solve the problem.

Question: I want to request a song, but I do not know the email address of the programme Music on Request. Can you help me?. Thank you.

Answer: You can send your requests to vovnews@hn.vnn.vn and we will send them to programme staff. Those who are interested in the show “Dialogues with well-known figures” and “Quick&Snow” show can also send requests to VOVNews and we will transfer them to these programmes.

Question: I am a regular reader of VOVNews and Nhan Dan (People) Online newspaper. Recently, I received an email from Vietnam which contains fabricated information about the regime. I would like VOVNews and Nhan Dan Online to inform functional agencies about the email and find out the truth. I wish VOVNews and Nhan Dan Online staff good health and new successes in the New Year (Huli Namy from Canada).

Answer: Thank you for your trust in VOVNews. Recently, several bad elements who lack goodwill towards the Vietnamese State made use of the open-door policy in the area of information management to distribute distorted information about the country on the Internet. The fact is that in the current information technology boom, Vietnamese nationals residing abroad can get the most objective view about the country through the media such as the Internet, newspapers, radio and TV broadcasts. Therefore, their efforts become meaningless. We think that many overseas Vietnamese will share your view, and hope to receive more recommendations from you.
