The event was organised on the 220th anniversary of France’s National Day (on July 14), the 10th ceremony of UNESCO’s recognition of Hanoi as a peace city , the 55th year anniversary of the capital’s liberation and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Present at the festival were members of VFFA and a large numbers of pupils and students from schools and universities around the capital.
Looking towards the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, the VFFA’s Hanoi branch is scheduled to pay a visit to France, in September to promote the event with activities such as an exhibition of Ao dai’s (Vietnamese traditional dress), the publication of book on Hanoi food translated into 6 foreign languages and an introduction of Hanoi’s cuisine.
