Vice State President Truong My Hoa urged local businesswomen to actively take advantage of the country's WTO accession and engage in the economic integration process. The Vice President made the appeal while meeting with 40 Vietnamese female entrepreneurs, who attended the APEC CEO Summit 2006 in Hanoi on November 15.

She stated that Vietnam's presence in APEC as well as becoming a WTO member was thanks to valuable contributions by female entrepreneurs.

Enterprises with female leaders make up over 20 percent of the total number of enterprises in Vietnam and the percentage would increase along with the country's integration into the world economy, Mrs Hoa said.

Addressing the meeting, President of the Global Summit of Women (GSW) Irene Natividad said with Vietnam's economy strongly integrating into the world economy, Vietnamese female entrepreneurs should approach the world market to seek new business opportunities.

Mrs Hoa and Vietnamese entrepreneurs expressed their wishes that Irene Natividad would support Vietnam to host the Global Summit of Women in the near future to have more chances to meet and exchange experiences with women around the world.
