Fencers win 9 golds at regional champs
(VOV) -Vietnamese fencers have successfully bagged a total of 9 gold,3 silver and 2 bronze medals at the ongoing Southeast Asian Fencing Championships in Malaysia.
The nine gold medals were captured in four team events (men’s sabre, men’s epee, women’s sabre, and women’s epee), and five single events.
The individual gold medalists include Nguyen Thi Tuoi (women’s foil), Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan (women’s sabre), Tran Thi Len (women’s epee), Vu Thanh An (men’s sabre), and Nguyen Tien Nhat (men’s epee).
The tournament, taking place in Malaysia from January 16-27, has attracted more than 400 athletes from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia and hosts Myanmar.
