The world-famous flautist Andrea Griminelli will perform at the 12th annual Hennessy Concert Series, which will be organized at the Hanoi Opera House on May 30.

He will be accompanied by female pianist Irene Veneziano – an outstanding artist who often accompanies cooperates Griminelli at large performances.

 

Andrea Griminelli will perform fantasies and paraphrases based on themes from Italian operas, German folk songs, as well as a taste of the folk music traditions of North America, Bohemia and Vietnam. The flautist will play pieces of music composed by word-known musicians such as Schubert, Dvorak, Chopin, Pietro Morlacchi and Wilhelm Popp. In particular, he will also show his talent though a piece entitled “Dat Phuong Nam” (The Southern Land) by Vietnamese composer Nguyen Phuc Linh.

 

This will be the Italian flautist’s first performance in Vietnam. He ranked among the world’s eight greatest artists of the 1990s.
