A fund-raising ceremony for flood victims in the central region was held at the Vietnamese embassy in the UK and Northern Ireland on October 29.

Representatives of the Overseas Vietnamese Association, the Vietnamese Students’ Association, other women and business associations, embassy staff, trade offices, the Vietnam News Agency and Vietnam Airlines donated a total of over £5,200.

Since early October, the Overseas Vietnamese community in the UK has raised £9,300 (approximately VND300 million) for the flood victims and representatives of organisations announced the fund-raising will continue.

Tao Thanh Huong, charge d’affaires at the Vietnamese embassy confirmed this is a show of deep spirit and mutual affection and love for people in the fatherland. The Vietnamese embassy in the UK and Northern Ireland will be responsible for handing over all the money to the flood victims, Ms. Huong committed.
