First images of Party chief in Japan

(VOV) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and his entourage arrived in Tokyo on September 15, starting a four-day official visit to Japan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Vietnamese Embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese welcomed Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at Haneda Airport.

PM Shinzo Abe presided over the official ceremony to welcome the Party chief and his entourage.

The two leaders review the guard of honour 

This is the first visit of Mr Trong to Japan as the Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong and PM Shinzo Abe held talks on September 15.

The two leaders told the press about sound development of Vietnam-Japan relations in recent years.

They agreed upon initiatives to strengthen the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership, focusing on political trust, economic connectivity and cooperation, and stronger mutual support in regional and global issues.

The two leaders witnessed the signing of six important cooperative deals.

On the same day, they adopted a statement on a join vision of the two countries.
